Fischer Bros. & Leslie opened its doors on West 72nd Street in 1949. Substantial volume and long term relationships with our suppliers have enabled us to consistently procure the highest quality merchandise for our customers. Our reputation is based upon quality, service and Kashruth.

As New York's foremost Kosher market, Fischer Bros. & Leslie offers a complete selection of prime beef, veal, lamb and fresh poultry daily. We also carry an extensive selection of homemade gourmet prepared foods, frozen foods, baked goods, packaged provisions and groceries.

We are an old-fashioned full service butcher shop. Each item is carefully prepared and wrapped to your preferences. Whether it's cutting a formidable two-inch thick rib steak, or individually wrapping your butterflied boneless chicken breasts, just ask and we can make it happen.

Morris and Louis Fischer first opened our shop in 1949 and were later joined by a young survivor of the Holocaust, Leslie (Lutzi) Niederman. Known to our customers by his first name, he was soon offered a partnership and Fischer Brothers & Leslie was born.

The Fischer brothers have long since passed on but Leslie remained active in the business until his passing on July 7, 2008. Carrying on the family traditions, the store is currently managed by Leslie's son-in-law, Paul Whitman and Donald Coutain.
